About Yardwise

Yardwise offers free calculators for concrete, gravel and mulch. They run in your browser and need no account.

Why it exists

Ordering materials is mostly arithmetic, but it is easy to slip on the units: feet, inches, cubic feet, cubic yards, bags and tons. These calculators do the conversions and show the steps, so you can check them against a supplier's quote.

Who runs it

Yardwise is built and maintained by Luis Insuasti, a software developer. Formulas are standard geometry. Concrete bag yields come from the manufacturer's data sheet, and weights for gravel are typical values you can change. Sources are on the methodology page.

What we can and cannot tell you

The results are estimates for planning. They do not replace a supplier's advice, an engineer or local building rules.
